Which Cubs might be in the All-Star Game in 2027?

The Cubs have only one representative at the All-Star game this season: Pete Crow-Armstrong, who is a reserve.

But, assuming there is baseball in 2027 (considering the pending labor battle), the All-Star game will be at Wrigley Field. I really hoping the Cubs have a bit more representation than what we saw tonight.

Here are the likeliest participants:

• Pete Crow-Armstrong: this is a no-brainer, as PCA should be a perennial All-Star if he continues with the improvements he’s made this season.
• Daniel Palencia: After PCA, things get iffy. I think Palencia, if he can stay healthy and capture what we saw in the World Baseball Classic, I think he has a decent chance
• Michael Busch: while he has become an every-day starter, and is hitting OK against lefties, his numbers are down from 2025. If he can recapture that production, he could be an All-Star
• Ben Brown: he probably would have been an All-Star this season if he hadn’t gotten injured. Can he stay healthy and replicate what he was doing this season? If

Some less likely candidates:

• Justin Steele: He should be fully healthy by the start of next season, but there’s no way to know how he’ll perform
• Dansby Swanson: A few weeks ago, this would not seem possible, but he showed he can still get very hot, and his defense is still excellent.
• Alex Bregman: He’s been better the last few weeks, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
• TBD corner outfielder: We don’t know if Happ or Suzuki will be back, but one of them – or a replacement signing – might have a chance
• Matt Shaw: might be a regular in the outfield in 2027

And some unlikely names

• Nico Hoerner: If he can get his BABIP back in the .300s, his defense might be enough to
• Cade Horton: If he’s back from surgery before the All-Star break next season, I’d consider it a win.
• Edward Cabrera: He has good stuff, but we’ll see if he can harness it and stay healthy.
• TBD starting pitcher – Imanaga, Boyd and Taillon could all be gone next season. So the Cubs will need pitching. Maybe they pick up an All-Star
